Smooth Ambler’s Old Scout range continues to be a supreme source of spectacular whiskey with the addition of Old Scout Straight Bourbon! This sourced Bourbon (hence the name ‘Old Scout’) boasts a high-rye content, with the mashbill being 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malt, so expect hearty helpings of warming spice, earthy herbs, full-bodied caramel creaminess and toasty brown sugar. Really impressive stuff once again from the team in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Nose: Cherry, honey, tobacco and a touch of resinous oak. Develops soft buttery notes after a minute or two in the glass.

Palate: Baking spices (think clove and cinnamon, but not in a sherried way), joined by chewy caramel and dark chocolate shavings. Fresh basil and mint leaf, plus some toasted brown sugar.

Finish: Apple crumble, more cinnamon, a subtle hint of lemon zest and black pepper.
